Hello
I’m Irfan, an AuDHD therapist, and I understand both personally and professionally how painful it can be to feel different, to mask, or to constantly push yourself beyond your limits. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself, or have everything figured out.
I am a registered member of the BACP holding qualifications in Integrative Counselling, Psychology, and Mental Health with additional certification in trauma therapy and neurodivergence.
I work integratively, drawing on approaches such as Internal Family Systems (parts work), humanistic, and psychodynamic therapy. Sessions are collaborative, compassionate, and paced with your nervous system in mind.
Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a method of treating mental health issues by talking with a licensed therapist. It involves various techniques to help individuals understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. The goal is to improve mental health and well-being, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and address specific challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship problems.
Psychotherapy can benefit anyone experiencing emotional, psychological, or behavioral issues. It’s not just for those with diagnosed mental health conditions; it can also help people dealing with stress, life transitions, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth. Both adults and children can benefit from therapy.
I take from various schools of psychology such as:
The duration of psychotherapy varies depending on the individual and the nature of their issues. Some people may benefit from short-term therapy (6-12 sessions), while others may need long-term treatment lasting several months or years. Progress depends on the specific goals, the type of therapy, and how consistently the individual engages with the process.
